The pleasant smell of paper, the feel of soft fabric against the skin, the beauty of light filtering through the patterns of lace or colored glass. The materiality of the objects that share our space is just as important as the meanings they embody. They become subjects rather than mere objects, helping us understand the world—like true friends or companions on an adventure. We can even grow attached to them. A training course to explore ecological education (and political action) as a form of friendship with things.
